Our Sustainability Mission: Practical Steps Toward a Cleaner Craft

Tattooing has a visible waste problem.

Every working artist knows the feeling at the end of a long session: clearing the tray and throwing away a small mountain of single-use plastic barrier film, machine bags, ink caps, tape, and gloves.

Because clinical hygiene and client safety must always come first, single-use barriers are non-negotiable. But that doesn’t mean the industry can't do better.

We don’t pretend to have completely solved this overnight, nor do we claim to be 100% zero-waste. Instead, we believe in practical, honest steps that reduce environmental impact without ever compromising sterile studio standards or breaking your supply budget.

1. Ditching the Gloss: Minimal & Recyclable Packaging

Most equipment packaging in our industry is designed for flashy retail shelves—full of heavy foam inserts, glossy non-recyclable coatings, and layers of unnecessary plastic wrap.

We took a hard look at our supply chain and streamlined our packaging:

• Recycled Kraft Cardboard: Our machine boxes and cartridge cartons use high-percentage recycled, unbleached kraft paper.

• Soy-Based & Water-Based Inks: We stripped away toxic glossy laminations and switched to eco-friendly, biodegradable printing inks on our outer boxes.

• Plastic-Free Shipping Bags: Where possible, your orders are shipped in biodegradable or 100% recyclable mailers rather than standard plastic bubble bags.

2. Sourcing Plant-Based & Biodegradable Studio Supplies

Sterility is priority #1, but petrochemical plastic doesn't have to be the only answer. We are actively expanding our catalog to replace traditional single-use plastics with compostable plant-based alternatives:

• PLA & Cornstarch Ink Caps: Sturdy, leak-proof, and fully compostable after disposal.

• Plant-Based Barrier Film & Sleeves: Machine bags and clip cord sleeves crafted from corn-based polylactic acid (PLA) that break down naturally over time, replacing petroleum plastics.

• Natural Fiber Grip Tape: Cohesive bandages made from breathable cotton fibers and natural latex, eliminating synthetic nylon waste.

3. Fighting "Disposable Culture" with Durable Hardware

The greenest machine is the one you don’t throw away after 6 months.

Too many budget tattoo pens on the market are glued shut, making them impossible to service when an internal spring wears out. When they fail, they end up in a landfill as electronic waste.

We design and curate our rotary pens with a modular repair-friendly philosophy:

• Replaceable Battery Packs: When a lithium cell eventually degrades after years of heavy charging, you only swap the battery, not the entire machine.

• Modular Internal Drives: We supply replacement cams, springs, and grip components so you can maintain and extend the life of your hardware for years.
